VALUES
INSTYLE has a genuine, holistic and practical approach to sustainability. This has led us to make a real difference within our company and the textile and interiors' industry.

INSTYLE's sustainability journey began in 2002 and since then we have introduced numerous sustainable initiatives throughout the entire company, from operations through to product design, which are outlined in our Sustainability Reports.

INSTYLE adopts an Avoidance, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle approach in our operations and a 'whole of lifecycle' approach to product design.

LIFE Textiles®, designed and developed by INSTYLE, was the first Australian textile collection to address the entire lifecycle, from raw material sourcing through to product recyclability.

INSTYLE works closely with its supply chain partners, The Merino Company (TMC), Roberts Ltd and the SRS® Company to source the EthEco® wool used exclusively in LIFE Textiles®.

EthEco® wool is sourced from non-mulesed sheep raised on holistically-managed farms and it is the first time both ethical and environmental considerations have been addressed in wool sourcing for the interior textile industry. EthEco® wool will provide a catalyst for change in the wool industry by improving animal welfare, human health and care for the environment.

The entire production of LIFE Textiles® is traceable from the farm through to the finished fabric, which can be accessed through INSTYLE's online FARM TO FABRIC® Traceability Program.

INSTYLE's commitment to real environmental change extends beyond our organisation. For several years, we have challenged current industry practices and standards such as the Green Building Council and the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), which reward 'business as usual' practices.

INSTYLE has been involved in developing better environmental lifecycle-based standards including the Sustainable Textile Standard in the USA. INSTYLE also worked with the St James Ethics Centre to develop a project that aims to encourage small and medium businesses to become more sustainable.

INSTYLE is proud to be recognised as a leader in sustainability by winning several major Sustainability Awards including the United Nations' World Environment Day Awards and the NSW Government Green Globe Awards.
