CORPORATE PROFILE
INSTYLE is a leading supplier of design-driven, commercial-quality textiles and vinyls for interiors, including office, hospitality, healthcare, public building, transport, public space and high-end residential interiors.
Established by Michael Fitzsimons in 1987, INSTYLE is well known today for its stylish, contemporary and sophisticated textile collections, which are designed and developed to high technical standards by its inhouse design studio and produced by leading manufacturers in Australia, New Zealand, USA and Europe.
INSTYLE offers an extensive collection: including the benchmark LIFE (Low Impact For the Environment) Textiles® collection and High Performance indoor + outdoor Textiles and Vinyls, which are available across a broad range of price levels for use in upholstery, workstation, screen and wall panelling applications.
Today millions of people sit on INSTYLE textiles. INSTYLE's textiles feature in Qantas aircraft and lounges, Hong Kong International Airport; QLD and NSW Railways; Sydney Harbour Ferries; in government departments and major national and international corporations such as Telstra, American Express, News Corporation, Hewlett Packard, Macromedia, Unilever, Merrill Lynch, Washington Mutual Bank, Citi Bank, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Crown Casino, NSW and Victoria Parliament Houses, Federation Square and Sydney Olympic Stadium. INSTYLE textiles are also used by hotel chains such as Hilton, Westin and Shangri-La; as well as public and private hospitals.
INSTYLE is an ethical and environmentally responsible company with a 'whole of company' approach to sustainability. Since beginning its sustainability journey in 2002 INSTYLE has established itself as a leader in sustainability.
INSTYLE's LIFE Textiles® was the first sustainable textile collection in Australia that addressed the entire lifecycle, from raw material sourcing to product recyclability. In 2008 INSTYLE raised the benchmark LIFE Textiles® collection to an even higher level by sourcing EthEco® wool, which was the first time both ethical and environmental considerations were addressed during wool sourcing for interior textiles worldwide.
Furthermore INSTYLE was the first Australian textile company to offer an online traceability program FARM TO FABRIC™, which allows customers to trace their LIFE Textiles® throughout every stage of production, from the farm that grows the EthEco® wool with minimal environmental impact to the finished fabric.
INSTYLE's commitment to sustainability extends beyond the company. INSTYLE has played a lead role in driving positive environmental change within the textile, building and interiors industries by advocating for comprehensive, lifecycle-based products and standards.
Consequently INSTYLE has won numerous sustainability awards such as the United Nations' World Environment Day Awards and the NSW Government Green Globe Awards.
As an innovative company, INSTYLE has grown and expanded its range of interior products. Through joint ventures with Contemporary Leathers in 2001 and Wovin Wall in 2006, a comprehensive range of high-quality natural leathers and feature wall and ceiling panel systems are offered. In addition, INSTYLE distributes beautiful and functional wall coverings by Innovations in Wallcoverings and Concertex.
INSTYLE is represented in all capital cities of Australia; throughout America, Canada and Asia and is distributed in New Zealand by its wholly-owned subsidiary VIVID Textiles Ltd.
